Ouch... sorry to hear but glad that insurance took care of it. Where in Brooklyn exactly if you don't mind me asking? Last month wheel thieves struck my block and even took off OEMs from a '12 accord. Karma one day...

who's your IP? there should have been a form that allowed you to list the mods you added to the truck. I had a 2011 Camry SE V6 and ripped out basically the whole interior and added lots of goodies, and i was compensated by the insurance company, some of the mods i didn't even have receipts for but i still got paid for them.

I think generally insurance wants to know what mods have been installed. If you have 100K car with 25K worth of mods then that's what you tell your insurance - you now have a car worth 125K so that's the amount they going to insure you for (and adjust your premiums). But if you told them the car is worth 100K and later want 25K more for mods they didn't know about I don't think any insurance is going to pay because what you were paying them did not include that so why should they pay?

Most mods are not covered by your carrier or they limit the pay out.

If loose items were taken, that's covered under your homeowners policy. Most homeowners have high deductibles so submitting a claim won't come close to what's taken unless you went apple shopping.

Brother had his 4Runner busted into. They peeled the door panels back like bananas to get at the speakers. Dash also busted up.

Carrier would only pay to replace OEM equipment.

they don't care what you spend on the car or what you have in your car when stolen . they just pay the car value . i had 6k worth bicycle in the truck they didn't cover it . they asked me to claim on home ovners insurance .

at the end i picked up new 2013 lx570 today black and black .
first think i asked them to install lojack on it and they did !!
