Default updating Nav/Audio System

Gang,
I have a 2009 LX570 and I am wondering if there is any way that I can update my Mark Levinson system with the latest technology (Blue Tooth, XM Weather).
The current system does not have the ability to get XM weather nor does it allow for BT playback from my iPod music.

Any ideas??

practically it's going to be too hard, coz' you will need to upgrade your whole system (hardware as well) to 2010 which is a different generation (yours is gen5, 2010+ is gen6). it will be quite costly

What does "quite costly" mean? are we talking new car costly or a few hundred bucks?

if the car didn't come with the option, cost effective wise, not worth it, just get a 2011 one.....getting those option on your current car would require replacing ecu, engine wiring harness, center dash unit.....fun fun...just gotta love the design of toyota/lexus. it's not like a honda where if you didn't buy the fog light option, you can just go buy the fog lights and brackets and the wiring harness is right there for plug and play....

Hmm - I have the 2009 and I have BT for phone - I also have XM Navigation. Maybe they changed the version during the year? I will check what version I have.

I also added the iPOD interface which works great. http://www.vaistech.com/dev/sl2vi.php

Does your have the HDD as well?

you have gen5 system (08-09). 2010+, they changed to gen6 which has a completely different interface, has xm weather (and maybe stock?), it has usb connection factory for ipod, etc...

I wouldn't spend a penny getting XM weather. I turned it off permanently in my '10 about 2 days into ownership. Even here in San Diego where we don't get any weather it was constantly bugging the crap out of me with nonsense about high surf warnings and high winds which never happened. I realize you're in Minnesota but you're in a 570. Whatever mother nature dishes out the 570 and your local weather report can handle it. I have kept the XM traffic which is somewhat useful.
