My friend just leased a 2009 Lincoln MKS. Interestingly, there is a "privacy mode" where, if he answers his cell phone with the button on the steering wheel, it can be enabled to route the calls to the phone (private) as the default mode. There is some way to change this to having a speakerphone call be the default mode.
Is this a function of the car or the phone? Do our Lexi have this? Does your new state of the art LX have this? I'd LOVE to have my phone in some sort of mode where I can answer it one way for broadcast and one way for private. Without having to jigger the "to phone" button so that the passenger gets insulted because you are purposely routing a default-public call to private.
And if Lincoln has this and Lexus does not, I am surprised because usually this is the sort of detail that Lexus thinks of first.
I have since moved to an iPhone which has this. It's a function of the phone, not the car. That being said, I had a 2010 RX as a loaner car for a day and it's BLUETOOTH allows me to play my iPod or iPhone app (like SLACKER) thru the Bluetooth. My LS does NOT do this. So THAT is a function of the car, not the phone!
It doesnt matter. The Lexus LX bluetooth is lousy. I've heard disappointing comments from friends who have LS. If there is any way to improve the voice quality (both ways), I would be interested to hear about it.
