No switch installed. Ground was secure to mounting bolt. dvd plays movies while driving. On first drive,
bluetooth phone dialpad & navigation address entry worked while driving.
Next time I started to drive, dvd still worked, but not the blue tooth nor
navigation address entry. The became "grayed out". I have reverted back to
factory wiring until someone has the answer for gps or I can find a kit that works.

After reverting back to factory wire, I purchased a kit from prestigioussociety.com (sales@prestigioussociety.com). This works, but GPS icon is stationary when nav button is engaged, resumes normal operation when disengaged. Kit will auto disengage after 5 minutes. DVD video works fine either way.

kit was about $314 including shipping. Phone keypad & functions work when engage bypass, but I keep it disengaged except when need to enter address for gps as I like having the gps functioning.

Installed myself. Need revert to factory wiring then simply plug in the wires. I do have trouble with driver side AC vent removal to get radio out. They send instuctions of wire plugging

Default trigger switch

Last month I traded my 07LS460 for an 09LX570, so I'm back in an LX again and it feels good--I had the Nav override in my LS and have now installed one in my LX. My question is "where have you been installing the trigger or on/off switch"?

sid,

i didn't and i don't think any of the others that tried this put in a switch. What override unit do you have? I'm sure the others with NAV would like to know where you got it and how much and how it functions?

Default Override kit

Prestigious Society sells a Lexus DVD/Nav Override kit for the LS & LX - (maybe for all the cars in the line) I have used it in only the LS & LX. This Kit gives you all the functionality when moving as is available when the car is parked--DVD, phone, destination, etc. Priced in the low $300.'s, installed in back of the NAV unit with a trigger or toggle switch to the dash. Works great! Other posters on this thread have purchased it also and there is much about this unit on LS board.

I thought I'd resurrect this thread because I thought of something. I just installed a VAIS for iphone integration. The VAIS connects to the tuner and the screen. For those that were having trouble after cutting and grounding the wires, did you perform the modification on the wires that go to the screen or the wires that go to the tuner? Just a thought that this might be the issue. I guess this may not be an issue as some of you found a company that provides the override. Just a thought that may be worth posting.
