At the auto show today in Chicago. I was telling the representative at Lexus about my pending order, and how I was looking forward to delivery. (By the way, I received a call Friday by my salesperson: it will be built in early March, with delivery late April, or early May--he was very shocked it was so quick. He had originally told me maybe summer or later for delivery. The order was placed mid Jan)

The rep at the auto show said it is due to color choice. He said about 70% of orders are for black 570's, and/or grey interior. He said if you order a black 570, you will not see it until December. If you order any other color with a grey interior, it will take several months, but not as long as December.

I really had no clue about this. He gave an example...22 pending orders at a dealer in Chicago, 18 are for black. Really shocked me.

FYI, mine is beige interior and mica outside color.

Anyways, just thought i would share this story with everyone. Could be a bunch of hooey.

I was at the new West Palm Beach Lexus dealer last Friday, Feb. 18, and they had a black LX 570 with grey interior on the showroom floor for sale. I think it was listed at around $81,000. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to to check it out, because I was picking up my car from the service dept.
