^^ What year LS430 are you talking about. If I remember correctly, the earlier ones had different headlights. Not sure which one you are referring to.

Toyota LandCruiser VX-R Limited has HIDs and the LX470 has HIDs......... in Arabia. You know, the better to guide the camels and stuff through the dunes.

I to have found that when a Escalade is behind me at a red light, I play with my mirrors like the joystick on a video game. I try targeting the drivers face It works cuz then I can actually see the drivers face in my rear view mirror from that nice blueish white light shining upon their face.

My Range is so much higher than most cars that my lights just end up in your eyes at lights. It is not that I mean to, they just do. I now try to aim my car differently at lights to avoid this unless the person in front of my annoyed me for some reason. Then the Range is raised to off-road mode and the fog's support the xenons in my offensive

I have been driving the LX570 for over a week now and I, too, would have liked the HIDs but the lights that are on the unit are quite nice. No complaints from me. I can see pulling up behind someone with the HIDs would be brutal from a SUV!

Wow, still no HIDs? That's quite surprising considering the LX's competition (i.e., Range Rover, Escalade) come equipped with HIDs.

they actually did come equipped with HID's, but in the first year they were only an option. 07+ they were standard.

i am pretty sure the new LX will not have hid's...but nowadays you can go aftermarket for very cheap, like 150-200 for a name brand. plus you can pick the temperature of the bulb you want to use AFS is a great feature though. i don't think it has any functonality, but it sure does look nice when i turn

Interesting, I received a Lexus broshure which talks about all the 2008 models. The last page is dedicated to the LX570, where it clearly states that the HID headlamps are standard. Can anyone confirm it? Thanks

the logic that height is the restricting factor on including hid's is so stupid. Given the height of the car logic, it wouldn't matter if the car had halogen or hid headlights as they would wind up in other peoples' eyes and blind them anyways, and at night, the difference in effect this blinding would have on people between halogens and hid's is negligible as our eyes would be extremely shocked either way. And halogen headlights are designed with built in upwards glare that I find makes them more intolerable than SUV's with hids which, given the nature of an hid projector lens have much sharper cut-offs that can be adjusted more suitably than even halogen projectors.
