Default Tpms

Recently I have a low tire pressure indicator light flashing and then solod, no pressure readings displayed. So took it discount tire. One of the sensor was bad. They recently replaced all TPMS sensors on my 2017 LX570 as all of them were eight years old and potentially can go bad as well. Now even after resetting using the button under steering wheel, sensors don't show any pressure reading. Also the low air pressure light is off. Is this something a calibration issue or sensor issue. I do have a appointment with them after Thanksgiving. They are trying to arrange the OEM sensors as back up incase these don't work after they calibrate them.
Any advice on what could be the probable cause. Because when one sensor was bad, I do have the light indicator glowing on, no its off but they still don't display any readings.

I am relocating to Philly. for couple of years. I would like to protect my vehicle from Salt and rust. Any members from Philly or northern states, what do you guys use to protect your vehicles. I am leaning towards Woolwax. I am not even sure whether this would work or not or it is required. Any sop you guys recommend where I can take my vehicle.

and lastly any good private shop or tech who can service Lexus around Philly area.

thanks

to prevent rust, power wash/wash your LX’s underbody each week! you can do it at home. no matter what product you use to protect your car’s underbody, it can be broken. wash is a very effective way. I do it each time I come home from off roading. try to wash thoroughly.

when you replace the TPMS sensors, it needs to be programmed before it can be recognized by your Lexus ECUs. For Lexus/Toyota, Techstream is the official tool for vehicle TPMS sensors reprogramming. There are some aftermarket sensors that can be “cloned” to original ones, but I am not sure how reliable that could be, beside, if the original was bad to begin with, so there won’t be anything to “clone” from anyway. You will need to either visit dealer or some independent mechanics to use Techstream for that..

sorry need some clarification. Are you asking about the 2017 you replaced all the sensors on or a different vehicle?

anytime a tpms sensor is replaced, one will need to use a scanner (in toyota/lexus case - TechSteam) to 'code' the sensor # into the ECU... (remove the old one replace w/ new oneS). should be straight forward

I had similar issue while replacing my tires and and sensors at discount tire, apparently they used some aftermarket sensors on my truck and they were registered with their scanners, and it did not show the pressure but the warning light went off, I went back to them and they could not program it, so they had to replace with OEM pressure sensors, voila issue is resolved.
