Brake Caliper Replacement
Hi
i took my 2018 LX in today to the dealer, for a 70k service. I expected to need new front brakes and I was right, the pads were at 3mm. The rears were at 7mm and fine.
What I didn’t expect was to need new front calipers at a cost of $1200! They said they were severely rusted and frozen.
This is my 4th LX since 1999 (‘99, ‘04, ‘09, ‘18) that have collectively been driven close to 500,000 miles and I’ve never replaced a caliper in 25 years in that car.
Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any insight about what might place happened?
Thanks In advance

I never heard about the need to replace calibers in Lexus or other models, I do not live in the rust belt and our local weather is mostly on the dry side. And yes I owned almost 35 cars, German, Japanese and American cars, trucks and SUV's
