Extended Warranty Costs
I purchased a 2020 LX570 Sport that still has 5 months of factory warranty. What would a good price to pay an Lexus extended warranty from a dealer?

Congratulations on the truck!
Not sure which specific warranty you were quoted at 6k (years, mileage, platinum vs. good, etc.), but the mark-up on these warranties is absurd.
Troy Dietrich at Toyota of Greenfield has sold me multiple factory Platinum warranties. Pricing has been great (idea is smaller margin but tons of volume), and the process couldn’t have been easier. Many others on here have used him as well. Very responsive and helpful guy. He can share all the choices available.
Copied right from my last email with him (when I purchased Plat warranty for our LX):

Thank you caha14, I'm waiting the truck to be shipped from Las Angeles a 2020 LX570, Black Edition with 17300 miles. With the factory warranty expiring in November, I believe that the Platinum level would be my best choice also.
Many thanks again.

Not sure what Lexus platinum cost nowadays (which is the best Lexus factory extended warranty Lexus offers)..but mine was in the low 3xxx w/ 0 deductable unlimited miles which will expire end of next year (total of 10yrs coverage)

I have a 21 coming off lease that I'm gonna keep and thought about this but i dont see any benefit. Imo its going to be a waste, I'd rather take the 6k and put it in a separate acct with a 5% cd and see if i come out ahead.
