Default Supercharger for LX470!!!

I have found info on the supercharger for the 4.7L V-8 , it is made by TRD. Stock numbers for the Toyota Tundra are 245hp and 315lb/ft of torque. Bolting on the supercharger produces 340hp and 457lb/ft of torque!!! That, people, you gotta like. And it is accomplished at 5psi pressure. With the same engine in the LX470 and the heavy weight it would make the LX470 an entirely new vehicle.

See www.pickuptruck.com and click on Toyota and then TRD Supercharger/Tundra release. Click on pre-prodution for even further pics.

Woohoo!!!! Finally.

Very good news! I am will be in the market for a Land Cruiser/LX470 next year, so that's definitely something to consider. With those numbers that puts these two heavyweights up there in Escalade land!

Default yup.......

There gonna start shipping the supercharger on this month on the 25th, it's going to be exclusively for the FJ100 landcruisers (LX470!). Probbaly gonna run around 3-4.5k. But hmmm.....the 80 series SC is down to about 2500.......hmmmm .

Oh and it will be way past escalade.....escalade throws down and 8 second 0-60........we'll be well into the 6's.

That's scary, especially with my wife's lead foot!

I wouldn't hold my breath,TRD keeps on moving the production date of the Tundra V8 supercharger. It was supposed to have been released the first or second quarter of 2001.

There has been a turbo system available for the 98-on Landcruisers (same as 470 sans active suspension and other goodies),unfortunately nobody in the US is a dealer for this Australian company

Talking

Also excellent news for those who are interested in the GX470, posessing the same engine as the LX and Tundra!!! I realize that the GX will not be made structurally to run with a GS, but it'll cut the grocery store run time in HALF!!!!! WOOHOO!

I just bought a 99 Landcruiser and this is the only forum that has any useful information that ive found since the lx470 and LC are the same car.

What is this supercharger going to do to MPG??

Nothing to MPG unless bigger fuel injectors were installed for further performance gains. The numbers were from simply bolting on the supercharger. Forced induction creates over 100% volumetric efficiency and will have no negative effects on the fuel mileage. If one could control their accelerator foot after the install.

Welcome to the Forum. I'm still a rookie around here, but this is by far the best enthusiasts web site for Lexus owners. Your LC questions will be more than welcome here. Drop down to that forum and some of those guys how to add the ride height control to a LC and you might get a few disgruntled remarks, but otherwise yep, this is the place for you!

To answer your question, who cares about MPG when you're only getting 13-16 in the first place?

Actually, that turns out to be incorrect. A non-clutched S/C (which I assume the TRD unit will be) is constantly being spun by the engine, and the power to spin it comes out of the engine's output just like anything else (A/C, power steering, alternator, etc). VE and injector size have nothing to do with it.

My guess, given the low speed and boost level of the TRD unit and the relatively poor mileage of the stock LX, is you will see 0.5 - 1.0 MPH drop with the S/C installed. Err, unless you're constantly at WOT, that is
