Interior lights & avoiding dead batt when tailgating
Hey guys—my only consistent complaint w my truck is the interior lights don’t have an auto cutoff after a few minutes, like newer cars have....or do they?
On more than one occasion, we’ve wanted to sit on the tailgate during a parade or when tailgating....and have run down the battery. Because even if you turn off the two dome lights, the lights on the actual door stay lit.
Anyone found a way around this or is it a place to manually control interior lights than just switching each?
Thanks as always!

Coming back to this post because I remembered it when camping recently and had the gate and hatch open. In my case the door lights were not on during this phase. The only lights on were the security flashing red light and the door ajar icon on the dash.
I didn't do any tests on if the position of the light stalk affects anything but for the record I keep mine in auto mode.
