I am looking a the LX470 and the dealer says its very rare. Aside from the gas mileage the ride is sweet and what I would expect from a 16 yo vehicle from the Toyota/Lexus group. Priced at $10,500 vs 18,000 for other similar vehicles. Does this sound like a deal with 148,K miles?

They are indeed rare compared to other Toyota and Lexus models but not rare n the sense that you can never find one for sale. Price sounds very good indeed if it has timing belt done, full records and stayed up to date on services. I would have it inspected by a Toyota or Lexus independent shop and absolutely check underneath for rust. Can you verify where this rig spent its life? I looked at many over several months that were rust buckets shipped in from the east coast, but local Oregon cars don't rust and since you're in CA the same holds true generally.
