Default Picked up my first LX a few weeks back

Day one of ownership

Finished up the radio install

Step boards gone, mud flaps trimmed, windows tinted
I had a GX a few years ago that was a lot of fun. IronMan lift, snorkel, sequoia wheels...all kinds of goodies and had a blast with it. Wanted to get into another SUV a little bigger this time and I had bugged a guy for years about his 2000 LX. He finally decided it was time to get rid of it. It was bought new locally and stayed at his Florida home in a climate controlled garage all of its 89,000 miles. Every button on it works and I couldn’t be happier. It’s 99.9% perfect. 18 year old shocks are in need of replacement. So I’m going to go ahead and swap out the AHC with an IronMan lift. I’ve already swapped out the factory Nakamichi head unit for a Kenwood DNX994S with a back up camera and satalite radio. Had the windows tinted all the way around and was lucky enough to find a tint with a hint of bronze in it to match the other windows. Found 5 Rock Warrior wheels at a killer deal and am having them blasted and powder coated in a gunmetal metallic which is a few shades darker than the original color. It’ll be a while before I put those on because the tires on the factory wheels are brand spankin new. Pulled the step boards and trimmed the rear mud flaps for a little instant lift the day I got it. Overall I’m incredibly happy with vehicle. It’s the nicest 18 year old vehicle I’ve ever owned! Looking forward to having some fun with this truck and getting in some great road/trail trips!

Great looking ride. I know this will be subjective but can you provide a brief comparison between stock GX and your new LX regarding ride, handling, etc... Reason is I have my eye on a local 2003 LX. Thanks

So they both ride great. Even with the LX having a little slop in the suspension. Obviously there is a big size difference. I have 2 pretty good size labs that we hunt with and even in the GX they could load up in the back and stretch out and still have room for guns and gear. As expected...mileage sucks. About 320 miles on a tank on a good day. The GX did a little better but not by much. Wasn’t a big factor for me since I’ve i have a TDI Passat that’ll get close to 50 mpg. Visibility inside each one is about the same. Don’t really have any blind spots in either one. They both seem to be very easy to work on and the amount of “do it yourself” info in forums for the 100 and 120 series is pretty impressive. It really just comes done to which one looks the best to you and if you need the size of an LX. Overall I personally like the LX a little better.
