Default 2001 Traction Control Sensor Issue

Looking at a 2001 LX 470 for sale with 131k miles for $8k in my area. The owner says it needs a new traction control sensor, wondering what that entails, I'm totally fine with doing work on the vehicle, just never owned one of these and looking for some experience in the problem.

I got essentially zero googling 'lexus traction control sensor' but found some hits using 'land cruiser' instead of 'lx'...essentially the same truck. Google tells me it may also be related to the yaw sensor, but I would take it to a dealer or good indy shop and see, v. throwing parts at it. If you get a decent diagnosis, I'd guess maybe $100, parts are easy to find online and typically can discount Lexus/Toyota msrp by 25% or so, depending upon what's needed. You could also register at i8hmud.com and ask the question on the 100 series forum there. FAR more info there than here, imo.

Price is a steal based on mileage. Have you plugged the VIN into the owners section on Lexus.com to see how many owners the truck has had, and what services have been performed or declined by the owner(s)?

Thanks for your service, and greetings from the 3rd ANGLICO.
