Hey guys I tried the AHC button today and it kept flashing the setting that I wanted the LX470 to be on and never worked.I waited 3minutes and even measured to see I it moved up/down but had no luck. I tried using the AHC w/the ignition on and w/the car on. Whats wrong with my truck?

Nothing is wrong with your truck!
Just drive around a bit, then drive below 20, select High and see if it goes up while driving under 20mph if does, your truck is fine!
do you have the back of the truck loaded with holiday goodies, or family members?
Too much weight will prevent the AHC from engaging, and in some cases, cause the AHC default to a LOW setting.
Just from the top of my head... good luck!

nope no one was riding and I was outside the car to see if it worked properly.
And this was a week after I removed the third row seats. Also there was nothing in the trunk..Hehe the "holiday goodies" were under the christmas tree
I presume all doors were closed? AHC won't change height if any door is open. With engine on, all doors closed, tranny in park, foot off the brake, you touching nothing other than the AHC height switch, it won't change? Could one of your doors have a faulty open/closed switch or cracked/crimped wires from opening/closing the door many times?
Another way is to turn on the engine, put tranny into drive, and release the brake pedal (let the car coast). Now try to change the height. You should be able to go to low or high since the speed is < 9mph. Owner's manual says it goes from low to N at 17mph, but I believe that's flat wrong. Mine always does it at 9mph with stock tires.

thanks guys for all your help. As Jim said the AHC wont work when the all the doors are not closed, my front driver's side door was open while I tested it. I took Jim's "facts" and it turns out it works and I made a fool of myself not knowing it wouldn't work without "all" the doors closed .Thanks guys!!
Also as Jim said it goes back to N from LO when its 9mph on HIS car, my car does it at 10mph.(with stock OVERSIZED tires)
yup, any door even the tailgate, if the little open door light is on in your guage cluster, the AHC will not adjust. But 1mph, i dont think we need to argue over that one, hah
Jim's the pimp w/ the FSMs. Or maybe he actually read his Owner's Manual
Although I have the 3 volumes (2000+ pages) of the FSM, the info for this thread can be found in the owner's manuals! PS: notice that the owner's manuals says you can turn the CDL on/off independent of 4wd high/low. This implies no "pin 7" for the CDL ECU, so you don't have to do the fabled "pin 7 mod" like on earlier 100 series rigs (if you don't know what I'm talking about, never mind). Checking in the FSM electrical manual, indeed, toyota has eliminated pin 7 from the CDL ECU.
