the land cruiser is the same as the LX470-only now they're making an effort to change parts commonality.there is no lexus in japan and they sell the LX470 as the TOYOTA CYGNUS-get it? it falls under the different FJ100 variants of the LAND CRUISER line.the only distinguishing differences is the AHC controls and the multi-suspension confort settings (at least in the 2000 versions), internal/external trim and colors. in later years, toyota may have actually narrowed down the difference.
the flagship of the SUV line of Toyota is the Land Cruiser-known worldwide more than the LX470 up the late 90's and has a rock solid reputation, that frankly, LX470 built on. historically Toyota built its image of dependabilty worldwide in no mean terms, based on the LC.

Brickhead- I got the info about the LX by reading car magazines, some of the articles would talk about the Tundra getting a design/engine change for 06 and those articles would mention the LandCruiser,Lexus LX, Seqouia also getting the same treatment. Who knows it might be for 07, cuz sometimes car magazines aren't 100% right.
