Hi mate , are there any other issues other than the airbag plug that wouldn't allow you to fit it on an earlier LS400 ?
Like are the rest of the plugs the same and is the spline the same etc etc ?
If the airbag plug is the only hassle consider it sold .
I have a 90 LS400 .

i know that the spline is the same but not sure if the other plug for the horn and the cruise control will fit, i can take a picture of that connector on the steering wheel if you'd like so we can compare it.

Good Luck!
Actually from everything i have seen and read.
The LS 400 95-2000 wheel is the same straight swap
as well as the LX 450-470 and LS430 which all share the same steering wheel .
To also confrim this most if not all sellers who have the wheels know the multiple aplication of teh wheel in other Lexus cars.

I have an LS430 wood steering wheel but have not finished it to install it yet.

NO there not... I bought one of his wheels in hopes of installing it on my LX470 and it did not match up... I went to the dealer and cross-referenced everything and they are completely different parts, even the spindle on the lx470 is bigger than the ls400s..... and I'm pretty sure it wont fit the lx450....

the color is tan. the airbag is pretty easy to put on if your car is the 98-00 model. if it is the ealier years then i heard you have to mod the connector but i'm not sure.
