Default 98-00 ls400 ocv filter change

Have anyone change out the oil control valve filter on the 98-00 LS400? I know and have read that people have clean them but I am in the process of doing the timing belt etc again and would like to change it

I have R&R mine and cleaned them and the chamber they go in.... BUT I have never changed the filter because you would have to remove the camshafts to do this... look under EM-28, page 1214 service manual 2000 LEXUS LS400..... or see attached ..good luck

Thanks for the diagram! I cleaned it but figure I want to change it since redoing timing belt and it was only like 8 bucks per filter

Did you ever replace your filters?

I am having a p1349 even after replacing the OCV solenoid. I am concerned that the filters might be clogged on my LS430 that I recently purchased. I haven't found much information as to where these filters are located, just that you have to remove the cams to remove them. I assume they can be accessed and cleaned but not removed, from the sounds of it. Whatever I can do to eliminate the need to replace the OCV controller itself. Holding off on a timing belt job until I can narrow this down.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Thanks. It will be a good practice to clean the OCV filter when replacing the valve cover gaskets.
