Thumbs down So Much For The Arnott Struts

I bought the Arnott Strut Kit for my 91 LS and installed them on all four corners about 6 months ago. The rears have given out. They still work, but they're making a clunking noise over any little bump. I replaced the left rear today with one of my original / OEM struts that has 90k miles on it. The noise went away on that side, so I know my diagnosis is correct. I only put around 5k miles on the rear struts before they gave out.

I know I could call Arnott for a free replacement, but I think I'll just stick with new OEM...

Sorry to hear about your experience with arnott. Here is mine

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...-problems.html

They were finally able to sent me a pair the worked. I never returned the previous 2 pairs that were bad. I'll keep them for parts. All I know is that I will never be doing business with Arnott again.

I'd probably still trust them for the UCA.

Quick update to the Arnott struts... I replaced both rears with my original OEM's the other day and everything is back to normal with the OEM's installed. Once the rear was quiet, I could hear a noise from the right front, so today I took the front Arnott's out and reinstalled my OEM's in the front. Again, the groaning/clunking noises are gone! Sticking with OEM...

Going to start a separate thread about the Arnott Front UCA's now... Another

Yes, Arnott informed me today that the UCA's are on back order. They won't commit to when they'll be available again. They're hoping in one to two months.

Follow up on the four Arnott replacement struts... Arnott agreed to take them back and refund my money. I shipped them back a couple weeks ago and got a check in the mail from them today. Back to OEM struts for me. I'll do them sometime over the winter.

Good to hear you got your money back on them but you will never get your time and effort back. At least the word is out for other people to not use them. Too bad you had to go through all that pain. I know what it's like to purchase junk parts. (My old Pontiac parts) Did they reimberse ya for all the shipping or just the product?

Hi guys,

No, I had to pay the shipping to return them and they didn't reimburse me for the original shipping costs, but I'm glad to have gotten the refund.

BTW, from my other thread about their UCA's, I also shipped back the UCA's that had the wrong size taper on the ball joint studs (these were to replace their original UCA's that had torn boots), because they agreed via email to reimburse me for those too, but when the check came, it didn't include the $200 for the UCA's...

I'm happy to have gotten what I did and I'll chaulk up the $200 as paying for my education...

Jim
