Default 2018 LS500h

Nearby dealer has an LS hybrid. Nice car, but I’m a little concerned about maintenance vs a regular LS500, especially the unusual transmission arrangement and the adj. suspension. Is there someone who has put high mileage on one of these beasts who can ease any doubts I might have about buying this one.

Hybrid requires less maintenance. The 4 stage eCVT are not known to have any issues.

Unless you plan to keep it for more than 15 years, not much else to think about.

My 2018 LS 500h has 85000 km's on it and runs as new, i don't like the 10 speed gearbox, it sometimes shifts a bit too fast/hard, dealer says it's normal. The suspension is a bit hard compared to my previous LS 600h (both air).

Speaking recently with a long term Lexus tech and he has not heard/seen any issues with LS500h yet since its release. I figured going with the hybrid would be more reliable than twin-turbo along with slight increase in MPG when making my initial decision to buy. Praying that there a no issues longterm.

I have found if you are in S+ and running the car hard, the transmission sometimes keeps the REVs too high…but I figured out to use paddle shifters to put in higher gear which drops the RPMS down to normal levels.
