Default Turbo Whine

I know this has been discussed and thanks in advance for your replies...2018 LS with 25K that has developed an annoying whine that sounds like its turbo related. Has always been some noise but has increased greatly of late...
Any way to lubricate? Dealer issue? Covered by warranty?
Ideas?....Thanks

Definitely let warranty sort it out if you are still under warranty. I’ve never heard turbo whine in the LS; this symptom could be a harbinger of a larger one.

do you understand exactly what a pulley does, and how it operates? It in no way compares to a tire contacting a road surface.

i know from experience replacing tons (on other cars) that pulleys can go bad early. lots of pressure and heat. and spinning fast at over 10,000+ RPM. dirt/dust picks away at the seals, causing oil to seep/evaporate out and dry out the bearings and eventually kill them. if you lose the dust cap it accelerates it. so it greatly depends on operating conditions. another thing that can kill them is if the tensioner is worn out or goes bad.

bearings live a hard life. here is how the pulley looks
