Thats pretty cool that lexus would use this engine in the Landcruiser/LX600's/tundras must be a proven engine for them to do this. As the landcruiser is known for being solid.

Correct me if I'm wrong but every LS engine has been shared with the LX and Tundra just a different tuning, same for the Land Cruiser.

LX570 5.7 uses a bigger v8 in the older 2017-2021, landcruisers run the 4.6, and 5.7 (ls460) older tundra

So if im not mistaken thats the end of the v8 for lexus other then the LC500

Maybe the LS will finally get tuning options since the truck guys will undoubtedly figure it out

They already have downpipes available for the new landcruisers that add 50hp, so ya should be fun to tune

This does not excite me at all because of the lag off the line with this 3.5 TT engine. Time will tell if it will be improved in these new models.

I know, right! They are extremely scarce here in Canada. I'm thinking I'lll likely just going to buy an ES hybrid instead. 80% of the car for 50% of the money. Much easier to find too, less depreciation since I only keep cars for like 2 years...

To each his own, I say. I’ll support this LS forum and go with the car that’s not easy to find, and depreciates VERY little when bought used. There are so many versions of the Camry out there now, and the ES, albeit a very fine car, is one of them. Stand out, I say. 95% of Lexi I see on the roads are RX’s and ES’s. I’m just so tired of seeing them - everywhere. I’ve had my LS for one year now, and have seen THREE other LS’s on the road. Every time I pass someone in my LS, it’s obvious that they try to find out what a remarkable car it is, and what make it is - because they have probably never seen one up close before. That’s just a fact. That’s how I was every time I saw one on the road before actually buying one. And yes, the ES is still a very fine car. If that’s your thing. But apart from of some similar interior options and a few exterior design similarities (about 20%) it is a completely different car (about 80%). Chassis, engine, material, quality, refinement, size.. it’s an LC 500, but stretched with 4 doors - in almost every way.

Just sharing a friendly opinion. Again, the ES is a fine car. I just can’t see how it can be compared as such a similar car to an LS.

Have you driven an ES? I'd rather have an LS hybrid (preferably with the touchscreen) but they don't exist here.

Yes sir, I have driven every ES model from the past 20 years, with the complimentary loaner car service at my Lexus dealership. Had my LS in the shop to repaint the rims, install a dash cam, and have wrapped. That visit put me in a brand new ES for almost 2 weeks. I didn’t hate it - as I said before, it’s a very fine car. So please drive both the ES and the LS, then compare for yourself. They are, in almost every possible way, (except some exterior designs and interior options), polar opposites. Choose wisely - it’s your second largest investment (for most)

Whenever I drop my LS 500 off for service and they give me an ES loaner, it always feels so good to get my baby back. The ES has a nice and smooth ride but believe me, it’s not the LS.

Why can't they just put the V-8 from the LC 500 into the LS 500? The twin turbo V-6 in the LS is not the proper engine in the LS.
