I think the rumor of the death of the sedan is very premature. That said, I absolutely cannot stand the grille on the new LS and that alone would keep me from buying one.

It grows on you. I loved the grill on the 2008 and 2012 LS, did not much care for the 2014 and 2017 that I had. I quite like the LS500 grill. I'm thoroughly enjoying the LS500. I've had it for a little over two months now.

It's just that the American brands don't know how to build good sedans. Besides the Charger/300. The Chrysler 200, Dodge Dart, Chevy SS, Ford Taurus were terrible cars. The CTS has one of the worst resale values of any midsized sedan. The CT6 and XTS are supposed to be discontinued. But yet the Camry, Accord, Sonata, Stinger, are doing fine.

What was is about the Taurus that was so terrible? This is an honest question. Was it reliability? I grew up driving primarily Toyotas and Hondas. I once dated a mechanical engineer that worked for Ford. I tagged along when she had to do some testing at the proving grounds in Arizona and that was my first ride in a Ford Taurus. This was around the early 2000s and I distinctively recall being impressed with the ride quality of the Taurus and thinking to myself, "Man, the Camry doesn't ride any better than this. Why are the domestics rated lower in ride quality?". I haven't been in another domestic vehicle since then but have always wondered why there's a perception that imports ride better than domestics. I mean, all of the manufacturers have the same access to suspension design and can easily copy each other, right?

Poor rear legroom for its size, they've never really updated it to compete with other brands, poor build quality., high price, ($43k fully equipped). I think the Impala is a much better car but like everyone says, it should have been RWD.
