“Fatal error” of having too many window panes? Dramatic much? Lol

I have no xstal ball, but I say fatal because my guess is it may not be that long before 5LS sales drops to just 500/month.
Consumers are reasonably smart.
One cannot take a consumer for a ride that easily.

An extra window on the side is taking a consumer for a ride? Hmmm...
Silly me. I actually like the windows.

PS-just looked at LS sales in US for 2017 -the average sold in 2017 was 306 per month.

So you are figuring they will "drop" to 500 per month from 306?

Because of the window? Seriously?

Who said that "just" [nee only] the 8-sided window design was taking consumers for a ride?
It's not just the 8-side window design - it's the whole package - a car is the sum of its parts.
July sales figures will be released in a few days - it is a serious issue - long term, models like these will sell less than 100 units/month; is this what we all want?
Styling is subjective, so it won't appeal to everyone, but the more appeal, the better for Lexus - and this is what we all want.
If someone stuffs up - best to apologize, redeem, and move on.
The worst thing one could do is to turn a blind eye, and sweep it under the carpet.
Be constructive and tell President Akio clearly - otherwise be ready for more 8-side window designs from Lexus, and then come up with all sorts of excuses to justify low sales...

Okay. Here’s my constructive post for Mr. Toyoda.
I recently spent some some time with the new LS. I can see why sales have increased so much! I think it’s a beautiful car and hope the LS styling trickles down to other Lexus products. In particular, I find the interior to be a work of art and love the exterior lines, especially the side window design. Please pass along my praise to the designers.

The window complaint is just a smokescreen. The real obsession is PeteHarvey's desperate desire to brand the LS 500 as a failure. Although he frequently states that he wants Lexus to succeed, it comes through loud and clear in his posts that he hates the LS 500 with all the passion of a Hillary Clinton campaign worker at a Donald Trump rally.

I don’t care for the car, but that doesn’t mean I’m so arrogant to assume because I don’t nobody else does.

I drove this car at the event. Initially, it's pretty hard to get in and not think it's a beautiful car. The only thing is that at this price point, the buyer has a lot of clout, and choices. The vehicle does not seem to be a driver's car (there was a F sport on hand but it was not being driven, not sure how that would fare), but does seem to be of high quality. The V6 does not appeal to me, but that's me, nothing to do with the output numbers.
What can we say, I think that anyone who is truly in the market should take one home and spend a weekend with it. I did a test drive for $75 on the RX-L, and the GM happened to handle the test drive. He said LS500s are not moving well, nor were the RX-Ls. This is an advantage to the buyer. There is no way that this car is not way above average for a car, now the question becomes do you want it, when you compare it to the competition? Don't decide until you have an extended drive...

Funny, my local dealership only had 3 units on the lot 2 weeks ago and the sales manager said he was frustrated because he could sell a lot more if he had the stock. California vs. Pennsylvania, I guess...
Can you elaborate on what you mean by not being a "Driver's car"? I've heard that for years about the Lexus brand, because it's too "isolated" from the road (ie, smooth and quiet), and Lexus is a brand for people who want to be driven vs. people who want to drive. I've never quite understood that statement, especially when the same people go on and complain that things like Lane Keep Assist or dynamic radar cruise control or some other auto-drive technology isn't advanced enough. Always seemed kind of contradictory to me. What features exactly make a "Driver's car" in your mind?

Pole Position
On the other hand, adding a rear seat center pass-through or a V8 as some have suggested seem like non-starters.
