Permanent Daytime Running Lights DRL
Hello,
I am in Canada, and just purchased a 2022 L-Certified LS500 in the US and brought it back to Canada.

I LOVE the car, but having a problem with registering the car with my DMV, since we require MANDATORY daylight running lights. On this vehicle, there is the option to "DRL Off".
I went into the setup for the vehicle and made sure that DRL was set to ON on the Lights option...but if you switch to "DRL OFF" they still go off. That won't work up here, they have to stay on!
I went to my Canadian Lexus dealer, but the first person's response was like...."deer in the headlights"...LOL.
I am thinking that there should either be a software update to convert it to a Canadian car, disabling the "DRL Off" option on the stalk. Or, some hidden setting...they even hooked up a scanner, but couldn't find any setting.
I have even thought about having the stalk replaced with the Canadian version, that doesn't have that "DRL Off" option.
Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated. I can't be the first person importing an American vehicle into Ontario.
Thank you in advance.

If you buy or have the Carista dongle and app, there is a setting for the LS500 under "Lights Exterior", then "Daytime running lights" then On or Off.
Not sure it will work for you as desired, but worth a shot. There are also many other great settings you can enable/disable along with diagnostics. Link below:

Opposite trouble when bringing a Canadian spec car into the states. The dash and HVAC readings are in Celsius
and cannot be switched to Fahrenheit. The speedometer and odometer can switch to miles from kilometers but the
temp readings are apparently hard coded and settings and TechTools cannot change them.

Frustrating.
Did you go to the trouble of replacing the left stalk with the Canadian market (no DRL off) version?
Did that actually work? Is it as simple as not having the Off Position available with plug and play wiring, I hope?

Both had no clue.
Fortunately I was able to get the car certified for Canada, so I am over that hump. If I knew that switching stalks would work for sure, I would probably go ahead and do it. I just don't want to spend the money on a "maybe".
