The manufacturer claims you can remove the device without a trace but I don’t have any knowledge of the warranty impact. I can tell you that the installation instructions are a bit misleading, which means you might think that installing the OBDC cable is optional and only for use with a laptop computer. Not so; you need it for iPhone app as well. Also, you don’t need to drill through the firewall; the cable can be run up the steering column.
