Lead Acid Battery Vent
I have no idea why Lexus equipped my 2020 LS500 with a lead acid battery. That is also what my Lexus dealer replaced the original battery with.
It is an Interstate battery with a Lexus sticker on it.
As for venting, any lead acid battery mounted in a car trunk must be vented. There is a small rubber vent hose that leads to the exterior. It’s no big deal.
I have had VWs, Audis, and Mazdas with batteries mounted in the trunk. Seems logical to me. It keeps the battery away from engine heat and helps with a little weight distribution.
