Default Spotify volume with carplay

I finally bought a 2021 LS with about 18k miles - manganese lustre with palomino interior. Beautiful car and drives like a dream even with the RFTs. Absolutely love the interior and am very happy, so far, with the purchase! Followed valuable advice I got in one of my earlier posts. Will post some pics soon.

As I get to know the car, one minor issue that has popped up is the volume decrease (over BT) when streaming music through Spotify while in CarPlay. Volume and SQ is fine over BT but I end up increasing volume several notches and SQ apparently suffers when I listen to the same music in CarPlay mode? Is this normal that you all see? Is there a workaround or a fix?

How does music sound when streaming through Spotify in the 2023 model where the CarPlay is wireless? Is there a noticable audio difference between BT and CarPlay listening to the same music over Spotify?

I’m not sure on the 2023 model as I have a 2018, but I always get better quality sound (ML) using CarPlay wired connection vs BT. I use hi-res Tidal but I am sure it is the same with Spotify. And it does seem to need the volume turned up a little vs XM or other audio source.

I agree bluetooth, I do believe does not have the same quality as CarPlay connected or cds. I also think there was article that sated if you change surround sound from either 3d or 4d to 2d I think for just front driving area. I see if I can locate the article. Congrats on the new purchase, don't be afraid to post some pics of it.

Make sure that under playback settings you have "Enable Audio Normalization" turned off. This helps with the volume issue in my case.

the car seems to save your settings (volume, eq, surround) for each media type (cd, radio, bluetooth, wired, etc).

enjoy your new car!
