Just wondering where is the safest place on an LS500 to place an AirTag. Even if a thief suspects the presence of one in a car, trying to find it may be time consuming and more trouble than it is worth.
l’m thinking of sliding one under the carpet in a hard to find spot.
Any ideas?
Put one in the glove box or taped to the underside of the armrest.
Then a second one as mentioned. If your worried about a thief finding it, let them.
Who puts 2 in the car??? You do.
136 million iPhone users in the U.S. I have AirTags on our dog, travel trailer, luggage, wife’s purse, 2 cars. We use Find app. I have never had an instance where I couldn’t track an AirTag, but I suppose it could happen.

The reason why you were able to track it is because the air tag was in the vicinity of other iPhones with Bluetooth capabilities since your air tag is out of Bluetooth range with your phone (about 800ft). In this situation let’s say a thief steals a car with an AirTag you may not be so lucky and must hope that the thief is using an iphone. Air tags don’t have GPS so if you were to lose something in the woods you wouldn’t be able track it unless you are within Bluetooth range or the air tag is within Bluetooth range of another device.
I borrowed a friends car whose keys had a tag on it.
My phone told me about it.
I would imagine if this is correct any “thief” with an apple phone would also.
My take is apple had to do this to not be liable in a privacy evasion conflict.
