Just because it is OEM doesn't necessarily make it better. I know that is the case for brake rotors and pads.

you don't have to change the tube in this one but it doesn't come with the bottom screw in cap, I priced it out at LPN and it was $76 usd. I paid more here of course.

My original one was always wet so must've had a crack or deformation somewhere. Loaded up with a TRD filter.

Why do I use a TRD filter you ask.....when I got the car I didn't like the fender stickers and took them off only to find 2 locating holes so I had to replace them with something else.
Now I use TRD filters to justify the TRD emblems on my fenders which are also a cheap CF mod haha.

Hey what’s the part number for that TRD filter for our LS460’s?

It looks so much better than the cheapo standard Toyota filter.

These are aftermarket filters branded TRD, Amsoil uses the same filters at about twice the price.

I appreciate it. The quality of that filter looks better than anything I’ve have seen or have used on my car so far.

O’Reilly’s Auto Parts sells their micro-guard select premium oil filters which are actually very good, even better quality than Wix in my experience using them. But that TRD one is something else.

Lexus dealers here don't stock them, I use Toyota dealers.

@Boykie posted info on who makes them in a thread but I didn't bookmark it.

@DrQuality The RoyalPurple, ToyotaTRD & Amsoil filters are all the EXACT SAME FILTER (other than cosmetic branding). And yes they are all made by Champion Laboratories. The comments and photos I saw indicated the quality of construction is quite high. Unlike all the others, they have metal end caps with silicone seals, metal cores and the filter material is mesh-backed. The RoyalPurple flavor is the least-expensive of the three. The least-expensive sourcing is Walmart-sold&shipped for about $16.75 plus a $7 shipping charge, before tax.

Nice!! I’ll take a look at the Royal Purple filter as I can try to get those at my local auto parts stores. Thanks again man.😎
