Default LS460 Adaptive Cruise Control acting up

I recently purchased a 2010 LS460 with the ACC option. The cars cruise control feature is off somehow. It detects cars in the right lane and not in front of me. If I’m driving in the carpool lane, the car starts flashing collision warning messages because I’m passing the cars in the right lane.. could the sensor be pointed to the right too much? Can I adjust it? If anyone dealt with this I’d appreciate it.

Yes, something is definitely wrong. I have this on my 2007 and never experienced anything like that. It does almost seem like the sensor is not pointing directly ahead. I haven't read anything like this before. I guess you might have to check with your dealer, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are clueless as well.

Turns out there’s an adjustment mechanism on the direction of the radar. Similar to headlight adjustment. Easy fix!

Where is the adjustment, do you access it from behind the badge in the grill?

Yes. You have to take off the plastic cover in the front of the engine bay and it’s very easy to see the radar

Park on flat horizontal surface. Get a small bubble level. Put it flat on the upper flat part of the radar (behind sensor itself there's a 'ledge' for that). First, adjust vertical. On flat surface, normal airsus position, noone in the car, the vertical adj. should be 0.2deg upwards. Bubble should be juuuust a taaaaad over center mark towards front of the car.
After doing that start adjusting horizontal. Turn half turn, drive and test, repeat. Sadly without proper radar target device (metal pyramid sst and stand) it's not possible to adjust horizontal beam direction in one go. There's a procedure to engage radar aiming helper on dash w/o techstream, but it's only useful if you have that SST and stand.
ADD: proper horizontal is when radar loses preceding vehicle when about 2/3 of it leaves your lane both ways. proper vertical is when your radar never reacts to metal braces in the road but gets a solid lock on vehicles with high rear profile (vans etc). keep in mind that radar beam is steerable and you have to test aim on straight parts of roads. turning steering wheel at speed moves the mmwave beam.
