Default 2010 Sputtering while accelerating 58-70mph

Went out of town drove 2.5 hours away and noticed that while accelerating between 55-70 mph car sputters once in a while. I then drove for two days around town and nothing, then drove back home and had sputter again. its almost like the car skips a beat or tranny slips but just at that speeds.

Also there is a weird vibration/humming sounds in one of the back wheels that started a couple months back that sounds like your driving over one a lane warning or something. The first couple times it happened I thought it was the road but realized it was the car after it happened in several different locations.

Has anyone had any of these issues?

Thanks

Re the first item, what’s the status of tune ups, plugs, MAF cleaning, air filter’s? Just because you only feel it at certain speeds, doesn’t mean it’s not always occurring.

Check your rear tires re item 2.

these are just suggestions and a good place to start.

What is the mileage on your LS? If not the tires, the humming noise may very well be a wheel bearing(s) that is going out. Lift the rear and check for movement of the tire at the 3&9 o'clock position and 12&6 o'clock position. Spin the tire as much as possible and listen for noise. You may also be able to feel the vibration if you have one handle on the knuckle.

By the way, the vibration from the rear, if indeed a bad wheel bearing, may also be causing your first symptom. Not a sure thing, but possible.

Derreck - Let us know what you found out. Running Maypop tires can result in noises that sound like bad bearings. If you can't afford, or don't seem to need tires, do a rotation and see if the noise follows the wheel / tire. If not, that sort of leads it to being a bearing going bad.

As for the sputtering - that might be hard to decipher. It would be a good time to check your vehicle for OBD codes to see what may come up.

Your car being a 2010, I'm watching this topic closely because 2010 models are without a doubt, the best model year out there...
