Default Parking brake actuator location

Hi,

As the title says, I am looking for a parking brake actuator location and if possible some instructions how to remove it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

It is located under the brake fluid tank. Replacing the actuator is an involved task. Buy a manufacture manual for your car and you will need Techstream to remove and initiate the actuator.

People confuse the "hold" feature with the parking brake. This is how the system works, at least in my head... The hold feature doesn't use the electronic parking brake. It triggers the brake module under the hood to hold the brakes as if you were holding the brake down. If parked for over a few minutes (maybe 5?) the car does engauge the electronic parking brake.

The electronic parking brake actuator is located above the rear subframe. Luckily, it's not something that goes bad often. Usually the parking brake ecu ( computer ) goes bad. It's located in the trunk. The ecu's tend to get water damaged.

Thank you very much. I think that is the one I am looking for.
I'll have a look later today.
