Has anyone had success adding a bottom to any of the interior armrest door handles of the LS460? They are open top to bottom; I assume it is designed to help weaker or heavier folk brace themselves as they enter and exit the car. Having no need for that, I’d like to be able to use that gap as a pocket for storage while driving by adding a bottom to support a phone, glasses, et al. Please advise.

 

Someone years ago had their armrests recovered at an upholstery shop. That is the only occasion I've read of someone adding a bottom to them. I assume the shop wrapped the new leather all the way around to create the bottom.
