Lets not forget that engine (1UR-FSE) is used in other Toyota/Lexus vehicles.
  • 2006–2017 Lexus LS 460 & LS 460 L (Middle East)
  • 2005–2011 Lexus GS 460 (Middle East)
  • 2009–present Lexus GX 460

The LS460 engine is not interchangeable with anything other than an LS460 unfortunately. Most of the cars you listed are 1UR-FE or 3UR-FE equipped. Different motors.

Germany or Middle East would probably be his best bet but I still believe that machining the crank and new bearings ( if possible ) would be way less expensive than a used engine from one of these locations...

If I remember right you had some pretty significant engine work done a few months ago. Take it back to them. They messed it up. This issue is unheard of on these cars. Your oil looks fresh. Spinning tires in the snow does not do this--you did nothing wrong. Good luck.

Absolutely right, that is the question I was about to ask, there is no way that you can blow an engine by spinning tires in the snow, after living for 5 years in Montreal I know that for sure... On the other hand going after those guys that probably do screw up the repair may be a challenge "there" but who knows....

oh yeah, that's right. I forgot about that. You might still be under that warranty. Check it out. I really hope so.

Warranty there it may be little " different" than here but it is worth a try.

It may not be that bad to get an engine shipped from the US. NYC has a lot of shippers that deal with cars and parts shipped to Eastern Europe, as long as you don't mind a month or so wait until it gets close to you.

that is correct but that was a while back I took possession of the rebuilt engine done by Lexus here in Lviv i would say June 0r July 2019. It’s way way past whatever meagre warranty they had going.

also I think I’ve had my share of them touching the car. The projected cost of repair for the moment is not worth the grief of more of their butter fingery

agaim guys better the devil you know, what’s the point of getting one over 100k miles ? For 1500 plus shipping then deal with whatever bag of worms that might bring.

a step at a time let’s open it up farther see what if any other damage..then go from there.

we are not working with 100 usd an hour labour hanging over your head threatening every decision you make so it’s ok for now.

If you are looking at an engine swap, I'd look to the JDM market instead of the North American market. I've done JDM swaps before (on Toytoa engines, not Lexus)and as long as you find a reputable JDM importer, you're going to get a better quality product at a cheaper price.

Obviously no motor is indestructible. The rev limiter is there to protect the motor, however, high revs in neutral are different from high revs under load. Plus, we aren't clear of the motor's operating temp when the high revs occurred. Regardless, it is not really advisable to floor it when a vehicle is stuck. I'm not up to date on the "significant" motor work the was previously done, but that would definitely factor in to how I would drive the vehicle versus an untouched one from the factory.
