Default 2017 fsport versus non sport

Hello All

I am looking at the 2017 ls460 fsport and non sport and had a few questions

1. does the fsport ride the same as the non sport or does the fsport ride more harsh? I want the most comfy cushy ride

2. Are the brakes and suspension much more expensive to repair and replace on the fsport? How much more expensive are the parts and labor?

Thanks all for everyone’s comments

If anything F-Sport has a tighter suspension. If you want a cushy ride non F-Sport is a better choice.
Brambo brakes are notoriously expensive to replace even for Lexus LS series known for its outrages parts prices.

If you want the softest ride, the non-F with 18" wheels is the way to go. Air suspension might give a slightly softer ride, but is linked to expensive-to-replace ($2000/set minimum part cost) electric struts and no manufacturer (not even Lexus) makes a reliable-to-100k air suspension. By comparison, the standard non-air KYB shocks will definitely last 125k miles with no noise, loss of damping, or failure - and then you can replace those struts for $80 each.

Brembo front brakes are not any more expensive to do a brake job on than the standard front discs. I paid $32 for Power Stop pads and $30 each for Qualis Brembo rotors from Rockauto.com. Centrics are $48 each. The issue with the Brembos is dust (solved with the Power Stop pads) and occasional squeak/groan the first couple stops when cold. They do feel better than the standard brakes, but it's not that noticeable. And, the Brembos require 19" wheels because they are so huge (18" hit the calipers).

The above is based on personal experience owning and maintaining two LS460s - a 2011 Sport with air suspension, 19" wheels and Brembo brakes, and a 2012 with non-air suspension, 18" wheels, and standard brakes. The 2012 rides a little better and is more satisfying in general because it requires less maintenance. The 2011 has never been driven in Winter, yet it has failed 2 air struts already in 80,000 miles and I've replaced the pads and rotors. The 2012 has 112k on it and has had no suspension or brake-related issues.

Regular car rides softer than the F Sport for sure. If you want the best riding car you want a LWB with air.

I have a 14 F Sport. It’s not as cushy a ride as my 08 460. But it sure looks good.
