Did some more work today

I wet sanded the hood , front fenders and the whole left side of the car with 2000 grit , then polished it back up with my griots.

Paint has sone stone chips here and there but this resolved almost all of the paint swirls and fading/hazing

A few better shots of the seat and arm rest, color turned out very well and I'm happy with the finish, looks similar to factory in texture and sheen

Now time to take off that old, tired clear bra. I spent probably around 10 hours taking mine off. It was in worse shape, cracking, so I couldn't get it all off in one piece it would just break.

I made this same mistake on my corvette , took a while but I got it looking good again

They respond much better to hand polishing then machine , I'll try to salvage them before scraping them.

It is amazing how good the car looks with it off. After 190k miles in northern costal new england, the front end is perfect.

What did you use for the headlights?

I have the same question. The inside of my headlights are a *little* wonky but I'm not about to disassemble them without a better reason or instructions...

My headlights were not too clouded being from up in new england. I just used my DA polisher and a stronger grade of meguires compound, I think its called ultimate cut. If yours cannot be cleaned up with just polish alone, try the 3M sanding kit.

I wet sanded them with 2000 grit then used my DA polisher and Maguires 105 , 205 and a final finishing glaze , it's not hard if you have polishing experience

It's most likely the outside of your lights that are wonky, try polishing first see how it goes

Default Just awesome 👏🏻

You did a tremendous job! 👏🏻 BRAVO!!!!! Not only you are highly skilled, but also you have the patience and determination in doing the job right! Very commendable of you.
One will be very hard-pressed to find any shop that does this quality of work nowadays. Everyone is in it for the quick buck, following every shortcut they know and sometimes even inventing news ones, regardless of the price. It is very sad.
Congratulations in a job very well done and enjoy your “new” ride in good health. You more then deserve it. 👍
