100K Service
Hi Folks
Ive just purchased a 2012 LS 460 with 100K on the clock. It’s been looked after with more or less full dealer service record but I’m going to have my local Lexus dealership give her a once over...if I can ever get a hold of their service department. I’m wondering what other LS 460 owners have found at the 100K mark? Im also looking at upgrading the Info system to Apple CarPlay but there is another thread dealing woth that subject so Ill join in there.

Hi Madkeys,
Welcome to CL! Congrats on your 2012 LS460. It's a great car and you should look forward to many miles and years of driving pleasure!
It's good to know that your car was serviced regularly at a Lexus dealership. If you haven't already, create an account on the Lexus Drivers site (https://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers), upload your vehicle profile, and go thru the entire service history of the car for all the work that has been done. On the same site, you can check the maintenance schedule for a list of recommended services for your car starting from the 5K to the 100K time points. If any service is missing, then you should consider getting it done, for example spark plugs, coolant etc.
You may be disappointed about the lack of Carplay upgrade options for a 2012 LS. The two Carplay kits I am familiar with (LSalit and Beatsonic) both work only with MY 2013 and newer vehicles. Even the iPhone mirroring kit from Beatsonic is only compatible with 2013+ cars. There are Android Auto but not Carplay kits from GROM and others for pre-2013 cars.

There is a questionable quality Tesla style aftermarket digital touch panel available for the car that totally replaces the radio and climate control setup. Other than that it’s pretty much no dice for CarPlay as far as I know.
GROM say they have a box.....the VLIne series looks like it will use the video display touch screen as an interface with an iPhone. I’m investigating further. Gosh the standard interface is very clumsy...I suppose that was early days. https://gromaudio.com/store/vline/le...n-upgrade.html

Might be worth a few phone calls...
My LS has 95k on it.
I have replaced the plugs with Denso Iridium, and TBH the ones I took out looked okay, so probably could go 120K+ on them. Other than that, and a few vacuum lines due to dryrot (age), my 08 has been superb.
I do need control arms (all 8), but am DIY'ing them.
