When I open the rear doors, there is no light in the rear area.

I think something is set wrong. (User error)

Is there a control switch somewhere that helps enable the light for the rear seat. I asked the dealer for help. They said it was set, and hurried me out the door.

Have the rear switch set to middle. Have the switch on the front be set to "Door".

That makes the dome light in the front and back toggle with the door opening.

 

As a precaution, check the door jam switch. If you have the settings correct on your interior light switches and the light still doesn't come on, then press the door jam switch and see if that does anything.
