Default Control Arms and Bushings-FAIL.

i replaced my Bushings about a month or ago. I used Figs uppers and PSB lowers. well, the PSB lowers have either already failed or were pressed in wrong. the lower arms (the silver ones) have essentially slid off the bushing and are rubbing against my subframe. in a haste, i went to a new mechanic as my go to guy was busy and it bit me in the ***. My regular mechanic told me that with Aluminum arms, it isnt a good idea to press the old bushings out as it can cause the hole where the bushing goes to bend and not hold on the bushing correctly if done incorrectly. I will also say, that the ride with Poly bushings SUCKS. its noticeably stiffer, bouncier and rides rougher. question for you all. I see that ALL of the aftermarket arms come with poly bushings. have any of you found any aftermarket arms that use rubber?? or is Lexus the only way to go to get rubber?? I have an 11 SWB. if i decide to get factory arms, can i get 13+'s? i saw someone post a picture about the 13+ lower arms and they had been redesigned. im interested in going that route.

Try Febest. They seem to hold up okay. Lexus changed their bushing formula to contain more poly since all-rubber caused all the problems to begin with.

ill look into them. thank you.

ona side note, Does anyone have any experience with the auto zone Duralast arms? according to their website, the bushing is made up of Rubber and not poly.

i literally just placed an order for all lower control arms, sway bar end links, and outer tie rods from autozone (duralast brand). they have a limited lifetime warranty, so i can get free replacements for as long as i own the car. bonus points if they actually are all rubber. i'll be installing them this weekend so i'll let you know how it goes

plus they are running a deal for 20% off if you use the ship-to-home feature with code WINTERPREP. this also includes free next day delivery as long as your area is eligible. check it out

much cheaper than the dealer, but a little more than rockauto. however, if they fail again, you'll be able to return them to your local store instead of waiting for shipping

I did PSB bushings on my lowers as well and I don't notice the stiff bumpy ride at all

It might be something to do with the install I not sure though

Make sure to inspect the bushings properly , they may be re-useable if it was just an installation issue
