Default 2010 LS460 110v info

Hi All,

My 2010 Ls460 has the 110v/120w AC power outlet in the rear console and I am unable to find any info on it.

Moreover I'm looking if it is possible to change it from 110v to 220v. Does anyone know if its just a DC to AC convertor that can be replaced or is it more complicated?

Regards,
Chris

Um, I just have to ask why you want a 220 volt outlet inside your car! I'm thinking about what in my house uses 220V, and I'm thinking oven, cooktop, clothes dryer, and shop heater...

I live in New Zealand. Everything is 220v. The only thing I could run off 110 is a shaver or a phone charger and this also has the "lighter" socket and USB inside the concole so phone charging not an issue.

Oh, that's funny. Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude.

Is there a commonly available device to convert 100v to 220v? Like something you just plug in that has a step up transformer inside it?

Yes there is but they are well over 120w and would blow the fuse I believe. I was hoping it was just a DC to AC converter I could swap out.

You might find it in other markets that use 220V, https://www.worldstandards.eu/electr...ge-by-country/

I have a 110V to 220V transformer I bought for old stereo equipment, and as you said, it draws a lot of amps. It also doesn't convert 60Hz to 50Hz, so it was useless as a power source for my old turntable (records spun at 40rpm instead of 33.3rpm).

Would be intereted to see pics. Never knew they has these on some spec ls460s.
Just to let you know that current series Prados (2009+) have a 230V 100W outlet (AU/NZ spec 3pin outlet) in the rear cargo area on right side - It comes in handy sometimes. There's an inverter module behind the outlet. I do wonder if the module and outlet are transferable to the LS?. Would be plenty of Prados at the wreckers/salvage yards around NZ I would have thought.
