had the 8 control arms done, new rotors, and balanced the tires last weekend. First time driving it in the rain was yesterday. I didnt hit any puddles but i did take it to 70mph and felt much more stability than before. Before i would keep it around or under 60 because anything faster in the rain felt like i was hydroplaning. One of the lower control arms was really shot with tears in all the others.

It's not your tire width but your tire choice that made all the difference. Skip on UHP tires but get some good tires like Continental DWS or other A/S tires. They are UHP and probably all seasons.

Thanks everyone for the comments.
I decided that I really don't like the low profile tires and the 10.5" width rear tires. I put the rims and tires up on B/S/T tonight. I was uncomfortable with both the ride, pretty jarring when encountering potholes and such and the hydroplaning. The low profile became a deal-breaker for me. The hydroplaning might have been the tires and I probably could have fixed that with continentals.

I am going to go back to my 19" OEM for the winter and if I do a staggered set up again, I will stay with a 19" and not be so aggressive on the widths. I purchased these wheels and tires from a fellow CL member who sold his LS but kept his wheels.
