Default OH no an oil thread again, lol

Hi all, figured I would start some wild debate again.

More wanted to share something that is really noticeable. I should start by saying, I am not going to do the tit for tat and respond to all the comments because oil is like getting married to a certain lady, its subjective to each his own.

When I picked up my care with 68k I had lexus do an oil change and I asked for synthetic. the dealer was not that trust worthy and car felt good since day 1.

6500 miles later, I decided to go to another lexus dealer that's uses Pennzoil only oiis
I know bmw made a switch to Shell oils in 2016 and the penzoil platinum synthetics are derived from natural gas

for full disclosure lately I have been buying mobil 1 advanced fuel economy for my wife 535 bmw and I like the oil. Its been 12,000 miles since Pennzoil has been in the bmw

I have been driving a couple of hundred miles with the Pennzoil ultra Platinum and really digging the smoothness, the sound and the fuel economy.

I will stay away from saying more with smoothness because don't need to hear the same ole same ole about oil is oil

If you want to do something special for your car and enjoy it like I do, do an oil change with Penzoil Platinum ultra you will be happy you did, and your motor will to.
Been watching videos of the cleaning additives and how it holds up with heat. right up there with Amsoil 1 and 2 in a couple of tests.

good luck

Yes, you bring up some good points, especially "really digging the smoothness, the sound and the fuel economy" derived from the specific oil you use. I notice the same thing after I wash my car.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

My suggestion: Use brand name synthetic oil of your choice and change it often. I personally use Mobil 1 and use it in every car and equipment I own or have owned incuding lawn equipment and have never had engine problems. I own a '91 Lincoln now that I bought new that has 250k miles on it. It got 2500 miles to a quart of oil new and thats what it gets today. I change it every 4-5k miles and have used Mobil 1 all the way.

My rule of thumb is 3k miles on dino oil and 5k miles on synthetic or once a year on the cars I own. I usually buy Mobil 1 from Walmart when Mobil runs promotion. You will get $24 back when you buy two 5-gallon jugs. Pair the oil with Toyota engine oil filter and you are good to go. The oil and filter come out be around $30. Drive the car onto the rhino ramps and 30 mins later, the car is really to roll on clean oil!
