The air suspension definitely makes a difference, I had the SWB without it and my LWB has it. It gives an additional layer of isolation from the road and make the drive feel more refined. Its something that you don't really appreciate until you've put some miles on the car. Sport + also makes a considerable difference on the right kind of road. A couple times a year I drive down to southern WV and part of that trip is driving on several country mountain roads, and in that situation Sport + really helps to cut down on the lean and "pig" like feel that the car has with the standard suspension on that sort of road.

I also had a 2013 GS with AVS and the LS with air suspension isnt the GS in Sport + mode, but its a lot closer than the car in normal or comfort or with the standard suspension.

Some of the members are driving Unicorn: L with Lux package!!! I would want that but can't see practical use of Lux package as a carseat and booster would be in the back for next 5 years for me.

I am leaning towards L/Certified. MMR of that car is $39K. Hopefully dealer come down at least $2-3K of the list price of $47K.

BTW, I am also inclined to get Lexus Platinum Extended warranty. Any pointers on what to pay: rough ballpark number?

Thanks!
I got a 10 year/125K Lexus Platinum Warranty in 2016 on my 2014 LS. It will be good thru Feb 2024 and 125,000 miles (currently at 75,000).

I bought the warranty from Toby Rivers at Lexus of Shreveport for about $4200. He had the best value. Check post #82 of this thread
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...t-price-3.html

Over the past 32,000 miles and 4 years of ownership, I really haven't needed the warranty much. There was only one warranty item: an inoperative rear window defogger. Fixed for $200. I fully expect the air suspension and the control arms to be replaced before the warranty runs out. In any case, I bought the warranty for the peace of mind

I think Toby said only the selling dealer can sell the warranties now. I wonder if word got out and he got in some trouble with it from corporate.

Yeah, that was the catch. Toby was somehow selling across state lines. He is now the Finance Manager, and I guess Corporate got to him! The selling dealers generally don't offer very competitive rates (unless you are buying from Toby's dealership), and if the car is being sold by a non-Lexus dealer, then you are SOOL.

Still, it doesn't hurt to contact Toby for help. He may be able to refer the caller to dealers within the buyer's state who might sell the Platinum VSA.

@SW LS460 I believe you the difference Air suspension would contribute to the ride quality. Also, I could imagine the fun of driving on twisties on S+ mode! I would have to drive SWB for a while to notice the difference of Air Suspension.

For me with Dallas heat and flat roads, I have settled with L/Certified 2016 White/Grey from Sewell Lexus. I am coming from 2007 Hyundai Sonata so LS is definitely going to amaze me.

After all said and done, it was $47k out the door. Final sale price was $43855 down from list price of $47000. Will post the pics soon on a new thread.

@comotiger I will reach out to Toby if they can still offer warranty across the state line.

BTW, Sewell Lexus was pushing me to get L/Certified warranty of additional 5 year unlimited miles for $3750 (5 year warranty would kick in after 1 year of factory and 2 year of L/Certified coverage expires). They said L/Certified and Lexus Platinum has no difference in the car coverage except that L/Certified has no mileage cap. They offered 7 years of Platinum with 125K miles for $5200.

Does anyone has any more input on L/Certified extension warranty?

Thanks!

Congrats, Spartan! Welcome to the world of LS! You will love the car. Once you install the CarPlay kit, you will be set for a while! Looking forward to the photos.

The factory warranty will expire in 4 years from the first purchase date, or at 50K miles. What's the current mileage? Assuming the factory warranty expires in May 2020, the L/Certified two years in May 2022, your additional L-Certified will give you coverage thru May 2027 and unlimited miles for $3750! This is a far better value that the 7 years/125K Platinum VSA for $5200. If you intend on driving this car ~10,000 miles a year, the Platinum warranty will expire well before May 2029, assuming the current mileage is over 25,000. For peace of mind, I would buy the 5 year/unlimited mile warranty. I agree, no difference between the L/Certified and Platinum VSA as far as exclusions are concerned.

Gorgeous car, Spartan! Congrats!

There are two excellent options for Carplay for our cars.

Installed by SW17LS: Chinese kit from LSailt
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...d-awesome.html

Installed by neilprasad and Cosmo2002: US/Japanese kit from Beatsonic
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...ay-system.html

I installed a Beatsonic iPhone Mirroring kit over 3 years ago. It's nice but is no match for the Carplay kits.

Congratulations on the purchase! That's the L, correct? With all these talks, I want to trade mine in for a L with air suspension now.
