I love our ls
Just got back off a 2,358.4 mile 8 day trip to Richmond, VA and back. The high for MPG was 28.4 and low was today fighting a 20 mph head/cross wind and still got 26.4 running 75 mph. The LS just loves to get out on the open road and run. 621 miles today was like floating on air.

I have 79,769 miles on the LS. She will go in for her 80K service next week.

I've had my LS460 just over a year now and I absolutely love the ride quality and quietness of the interior cabin. Especially since I was coming from a Jaguar F-Type (talk about extremes!).

We really are pretty spoiled by the quality of our LSs! I wish I could do a cross-country trip in my LS600hL with someone else driving while I sat in the back Executive seat with the ottoman up (and an occasional Shiatzu massage) while I watched DVDs on the nice drop-down screen. That would be heaven! I guess that's the experience my 11-year old son is getting when we travel. He'll be forever "ruined" for all future cars he will own! None will stack up to that experience!

Have you updated your ECM calibration files?
Do you run with low rolling resistance tires?
What gear oil do you run in your differential?
With A/C on or off?
I'm curious about this to see what I can do to get better fuel economy.

I notice that the earlier year cars seem to get better mpg.
unless someone can compare part numbers in the engine I am thinking that the motors were affected by the later smog laws
our 08 at 85-90 average gets 26.7.
At 75 gets 30 easily.
mxm4 tires. Top tier gas. New plugs

It's funny that the LS460s get a bit better highway mileage than my LS600hL. I normally see around 26 mpg while cruising at 75 mph. Guess the engine is running all the time at that speed, although with the CVT I'm normally seeing like 1100 rpms at 75 mph if I'm cruising on flat land. My engine has a very easy life! I very rarely get the RPMs over 2500, even accelerating on an on-ramp! So much power and torque with the added hybrid motors!
I do consistently get 21-22 mpg around town (as indicated on the dash, though this is normally slightly overstated when I check the actual mileage when I get gas).

I don't know, I can't get anywhere near the mileage some of you guys get. I'm not a lead foot, but even on a relatively flat highway my best mileage is about 28, but more realistically it is 26 or less. And in everyday driving I'm lucky to average 21. OTH, I go 5000 miles without adding a drop of oil.
Oh, and Dennis, great trip!

All of you gentlemen are really lucky. I own a 2007 LS 460 Base. I live in a very congested traffic area, Rochester Hills Michigan, a suburb about one north of Detroit 20 minutes south of Flint. I do a lot of city driving and I average about 15.2 MPG. On the rare occasion that I've traveled on the highway for any short of distance worth mentioning, I averaged 19 MPG maaaaybe 20 MPG on a rare occasion. My car has 77,870 miles on it and it has been meticulously maintained. ALL fluids are fresh, fresh spark plugs current on all maintenance and updates (all done at a Lexus dealership). As you all can see, I can't touch any of your numbers, not even close, and I don't know why. I roll on Michelin Premier LTXs (18s) all the way around, 34-36 tire pressures. Any thoughts and or ides as of the huge mileage discrepancy?
