Ok I'll try to clear things up a bit here since there's a bit of misinformation in this thread.
In post #24, both pics have M419, then it's the same glass make-up with has to be certified w/ the gov. The gov doesn't let you play around w/ the markings as in making 1 glass w/ acoustic PVB then another w/out acoustic PVB. If you change the glass design (say like taking out the acoustic PVB), you'll have to recertify w/ a new marking.
Acoustic glass means that the plastic innerlayers (PVB) is normally twice as thick as normal PVB (0.38mm vs 0.76mm) & specifically made to absorb certain sound frequencies (think of it as clear dynamat) that's sandwiched between the 2 layers of glass. And PVB does absorb some of the IR by using tint. Along w/ PVB, there is a PET film are that are sandwiched inside the glass also which reflect IR to reduce the solar load going into the vehicle. So in theory a non-OEM replacement glass can use a cheaper PET film that doesn't reflect IR heat as much as OEM. And this shouldn't hurt the solar sensor sensing...it should make the sensing better.
And per post #29, my 08 has laminate front door glass. I remembered an '07 that I looked at also has it too. From being the auto industry, I would say it's highly unlikely Lexus launched in 07 w/ just tempered front door glass, then switch it in '08. There's a lot of validation that goes into doing a change like that.
And as for the dots around Nippon Safety, I would guess that's the manufactured run date. If you know their code, you'll be able to see what week/year that piece of glass was made.
I had to pay for a replacement glass before so I went the Chinese aftermarket route to save money. It might be a tad louder but that's why we have the ML system! The bigger issue for me is the roof trough molding clips. The guys were able to pull them up mostly intact but not all. So the molding doesn't sit as nice & tight as it should...
Good luck.

Thats actually exactly what they did. When the LS460 came out in 2007 only the LWB cars had laminated door glass. Lexus had issues with wind noise on early LS460s, and one of the attempted remedies was to replace the tempered front door glass with the laminated glass from the LWB car. Mid 2008 they started including laminated front door glass in ALL LS460s. Througn 2017 only the LWB car had laminated door glass in the rear doors.

Interesting. Thinking back, it was an 07 LWB that I looked at which had laminated side glass so I thought all 460's have laminated glass. And I believe front doors are the same for both regular & LWB so the change over should be seamless. I can understand why they would try to get away with none laminated glass. It costs a lot more than tempered glass.

When laminated glass breaks, it shatters into pieces but generally stays adhered to the plastic lamination; when tempered glass gets broken it shatters into little pieces that end up everywhere in the car and your clothing. Don't ask me how I know.

You can always just look at the label, or roll the windows down halfway and see what the edge of it looks like
