Head Lights Question

Hi all, Newbie here again with another question about my 07

My 97 LS400 had a head light position on the left side stalk that I could set so that when the car was started the full headlights would come on and stay on until the motor was stopped.
This was not the "automatic" option

I like that a lot, did not have to bother as I do now turning the lights on and off, it is my preference to have the lights on all the time, daytime included.

But I can't see how my 07 LS460 has that option, am I missing something? I do note that two small lights under the headlights do come on and stay on when the motor is started,
But that it now what I am wondering about.

Turn the headlight **** on the signal arm to the position before "Auto", this will keep your lights on at all times until you stop the car and climb out (or whatever your car is set for as a delay). 4 positions for that ****: Off, Markers, Headlights, Auto

Correct. If you set your headlights to "ON" on the LS460 they will behave the same way they did on your LS400 with the headlights set to "ON".

On 13-17 LS460s it sounds a obnoxious buzzer and display "HEADLAMPS ON" on the IP when you turn the car off and open the door with the headlights in this position, but they still function the same way (will turn off and turn back on when you restart the car). No idea why they added the buzzer.

The stalks are the same layout.

ok thanks everyone

I did not realize that if I set the headlights to on that when I shut off the motor and exit and car that they are on a delay and turn off after a couple of minutes
presumably to give you lights in a dark garage to get to the house door, Lexus thinks of everything!

Yes, and you can change that delay. Personally, I prefer them to turn off the second I open the door so that's how I have them set.

Your LS400 worked the same way
