Installed the new latch assembly today. At first it appeared to to work. Not sure what to do, I disconnected the battery then rechecked the valet switch. Eventually it started working and it appears all is ok. Not sure what action got it going but I think it may have been a sequencing thing, in that it had to start from the open position and close. Because the first time it actually worked was from the open position when I pushed the trunk close button on the inside of the trunk door. Anyway very happy to have saved almost $900 on this repair. The hardest part was taking the inside trunk liner off. The actual replacement of the latch was easy.

I was replacing the latch assembly as the trunk was open ! Hooked back up everthing and tried the close button, did not work. So i close the lid myself. Tried the keyfob to open the trunk ! Did not open. So, i tried to open with the key and the trunk was actually lifted up by itself with the motor. And after that, everything went back to the non-working stage :( . Did i do something wrong or is there a reset procedure for this thing ?
