Smoky Granite Mica
Does anyone know if the Smoky Granite Mica paint is like the Black paint as far as taking care of it. I keep reading that a Black Lexus 460 is a nightmare to keep it nice. Is the Smoky Granite Mica the same. I've never seen this color myself. I'm going to see one tomorrow and I'm probably going to buy it if the history report is good.

Surprisingly it does not show dirt like black. My previous GS350 was that color and it did not make sense to me that it did not show dirt and salt like I thought it would. Go for it.

Man, that's good to hear. I'm getting antsy now. I'm trying to dig up the details about the service history and see if maybe the Control arms, wind noise and Air ride problems were dealt with yet. Thanks for the heads up.

I think as long as the car drives well, you should go for it. This is one of the color combos you were open to and this car seems to meet your ideal criteria. Plus it's close enough to you that you don't need to deal with an out of state purchase and shipping. Car seems well maintained up until 20,000 miles ago, and lack of not knowing recent maintenance, doesn't necessarily mean no maintenance. Remember, these cars are built to last. She looks like a beauty to me. Good luck!

I have smokey granite mica, and although I've had it less than a month, it definitely doesn't show dirt the way a black car does.
As for maintenance, just because there's nothing online doesn't mean it wasn't serviced. My last car didn't go near a dealer once the warranty was up, and none of the service I did in the last five years shows up anywhere. My mechanic has a small shop and the maintenance data stays on his computer
You can (once you buy the car) go and add your own maintenance records on the Lexus Drivers site.

I did most of my own service on my car so it won't show up on a site either and I was more gentle, used more caution, took more care, and used better fluids then any Lexus or Toyota dealer mechanic would do or use on my vehicle.
