My wheels do a good job of matching all the chrome (window trim, lower door garnish, grill, headlight bezels, trunk garnish, and emblems.

I guess I'm the 1%...

Because you have aftermarket chrome rims.

Chrome rims were never a factory option on the LS460. All LS460s from the factory have painted rims, unless they are 07-09 cars with the Teleois options, and those are black chrome.

Your wheels are aftermarket chromed.

I don't believe that is correct. I can't prove otherwise, but I've seen another car or two with these same wheels, in chrome. And, I bought the car this way. I remember seeing other LS 460's on cars dot com with these same wheels chromed also. I haven't changed them. And, the previous owner was a retirement age gentlemen who leased the vehicle and only put 13,800 miles on it in 5 years. So, I highly doubt he sent these wheels off for chroming. HIGHLY doubt it. I think they are a factory option.

The Lexus optional info mentions 5 spoke 19" wheels a few times, but never specifically says chromed, nor does it say painted. Here's a quote, "19-inch five-spoke wheels with 245/45YR19 all-season tires (not available on AWD model)." That's under "Factory Options - LS 460 L"

Yeah, aftermarket chrome wheels aren't totally uncommon, but they were never offered as a factory option outside of the 18" Teleois wheel block chrome option which stopped in 2010. Dealerships did and still do offer them as a dealer option, but they are having them chromed aftermarket, they don't come that way from Lexus. I'm 110% confident in this.

The 19" 5 spoke wheels are obviously a factory option, but they were painted finish wheels. Any chrome versions of that wheel were chromed aftermarket either by a dealership or an individual.

This is the original equipment finish for the wheel, this is the only version of the wheel available from Lexus:

This is a link to the 2010 LS Brochure. I forgot about another black chrome option that came out in 2010, the Neiman Marcus 600 wheels:

http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/...%20LS_2010.pdf

Screen shot, as you can see the only chrome options are black chrome in the Teleios 18" wheel, and in the 19" neiman marcus wheel, your 19" wheels were not offered in chrome by the factory:

Is your spare tire chome? If your wheels were done by the original dealership it likely is, if it was done by the original owner I bet it isn't.

Well, by your explanation, it certainly seems feasible that the dealer could have had this done prior to the original owner taking ownership. I generally don't like anything a dealer does as their work is at the bottom of the pile for quality. But whomever they had do these wheels were certainly good at it. It was a good move. The only problem is, the P.O. hit a few curbs. No rash, but several dents / dings.

I don't remember what the spare wheel looks like. Just full size is all I remember. I will check it out.

Those 18" Teleios wheels look pretty tasty.
